Are you interested in learning about native plants and rain gardens? Join this walk led by Amanda Hardy Sloan.
Sloan is a Sharon resident who spent her career as a landscape architect, with a particular focus on ecologically friendly design. In Sharon itself, she is responsible for the design of the areas at Memorial Park Beach, Griffin Playground, Sharon Dog Park, Deborah Sampson Ballpark Pavilion, several teaching gardens at the schools, the entry to the Community Center, and of the rain garden at Sharon Historical Society.
Join us on Saturday, September 26th, at 2 pm when she will walk us around the rain garden at Sharon Historical Society. The garden should be at its best at this time of year, and we will learn about the plants she chose, and how they work to preserve the soil, help the water cycle, and encourage local pollinators.
